Services for Seriously and Persistently Mentally Ill Adults
At  SPOP, we’re dedicated to helping older adults live fuller, richer lives, including those older adults with serious or persistent mental illness. We provide services for these clients through our Continuing Day Treatment Program, which helps older adults who are unable to attend their community senior center due to serious psychiatric illness. For these clients, we offer a highly structured treatment program, with a focus on each individual’s particular needs. The program’s interdisciplinary team, comprised of social workers, case managers, a psychiatric nurse, and a psychiatrist, provide an enjoyable, and supportive environment for individuals who need a structured therapeutic program.

SPOP’s Continuing Day Treatment Program provides:

  • Psychiatric screening and evaluation
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Supportive skills training groups including health education, stress management and self-esteem building activities.
  • Therapeutic activities such as music, movement and art therapy groups, performance workshop, pet therapy and exercise
  • Nutritious, well-balanced meals, including breakfast, a hot lunch, and a snack.
  • Door-to-door escorted transportation
