Service Program for Older People

Bereavement Support

The loss of a loved one can be traumatic at any age.

Bereavement can leave one lonely, depressed, unbalanced and uncertain.

With the right mix of therapy and support, there are ways to get through the trauma of loss. Experience has shown that one of the best ways to find comfort is through speaking with and learning from others who have gone through a similar experience.

Through our award-winning Bereavement Support Program, our staff and highly trained volunteers provide emotional support and understanding, including group and one-on-one support.

We offer specialized groups for adults of all ages, in either spousal/partner loss or non-spousal loss.  The groups are led by peer volunteers and are supervised by a clinical social worker.  All participants receive an initial interview.

All services are free and require advance registration.
